I met Oluchi through a women’s travel group on Facebook. She was in Sarajevo for only 3 days, but we grabbed dinner one night and explored the old town.
We stayed connected and met up again in Accra, Ghana about 6 months later. I’m so impressed with how she manages to incorporate travel into her very full life as a doctor in Scotland.

2 Questions
1) As a doctor, your life is highly stressful. Does travel add to or alleviate this stress?
That’s a difficult one to answer! I look forward to my travels and I think having something to look forward to is great for mental health and motivation. However, my rota is jam packed so I try and fit in as much as possible during my travels. Sometimes I’m more tired after than rested!
2) How do you take care of health when traveling abroad?
First of all, I make sure to have extensive travel insurance. As a doctor, I’ve seen people get into sticky situations not having health insurance but ending up in hospital abroad. I drink bottled water when abroad, but would say I’m less cautious with food. I make sure to catch up on sleep when I’m away from work! 🦋
Even as a busy doctor, Oluchi still manages to travel internationally nearly every month. Does her episodic approach to travel appeal to you? Do you find travel exhausting or invigorating?

Amazing, a surgeon in her 20’s and still finds time to travel monthly. Good tip about travel insurance.
