I met Lisa and Matt a few months back in Bansko, Bulgaria, and we became fast friends. Not only did Lisa & I discover we’re both of Slovak heritage—I joke that she’s my Slovak sister—but also we all 3 love Bansko. And they run the travel blog Ready Jet Roam. (I’m a fan and subscriber!)

2 Questions
1) Where do you find community while traveling?
The biggest benefit is connection. Staying in colivings or meeting up with nomad friends gives us a built-in social life anywhere in the world. We share meals, swap travel tips, and join spontaneous adventures with people who understand the lifestyle.
It keeps long-term travel from feeling isolating and often leads to lasting friendships. Plus, being around other nomads sparks new destination ideas, business opportunities, and ways of working.
2) How do you find remote work and balance commitments?
Our careers grew from our travels. Matt quit his corporate job and started a travel blog, which led to marketing work and eventually becoming CMO and a partner at CoreIntegrator, a software company. Lisa began sharing travel tips on Instagram, which evolved into a profitable business built on partnerships and affiliate marketing.
We keep balance by setting work hours and planning travel days around weekends. That structure lets us stay productive while still enjoying the freedom that drew us to full-time travel in the first place.
What would you do if you left your current job? Do you think you would stay in the same field or let travel prompt you to create a new career? How would you balance your work and travel schedule?
