Lauren and I were introduced by a mutual friend on Facebook. And because the world’s a small place, a few months later we discovered we were both in Mexico and met up for lunch.
We talked for hours comparing countries, yoga classes, and the benefits of being your own boss. Check out her wonderful graphic design work at LM Designs.

What’s the most fun you’ve had meeting someone abroad? Newly single, I set off on what I thought would be a fun year of travel. On my first day at a group lunch in Medellin, Colombia, I met a cute guy and we hit it off. He was much younger, but it didn’t matter. We ended up hanging out the entire month. It was so much fun and exactly what I needed.
What’s the biggest challenge of dating on the road? There are two big challenges for me. One is that 95% of the guys I meet are at least 10 years younger than me. Second, having the chance to get to know someone before either one of us jets off to the next place on the itinerary is sometimes extremely difficult.
Have you ever met someone while traveling? Where do you meet romantic interests on the road? If you had an impending departure date, did the travel deadline help or hinder the budding relationship?
